How to cite

You should always cite the source(s) from which the eco-tool was developed, in addition to the eco-tool itself. If you are using the online eco-Tool, then use something like: “Calculations were performed using the internet-accessible Species Richness Estimators Eco-Tool (Russell 2006), which implements the techniques described in Colwell and Coddington (1994) and references therein, as well as those of Colwell, Mao and Chang (2004).”

If you are using the underlying code, or a modification of it, in your own installation of Mathematica, or by using it as the basis for code in a different programming language, then use something like: “Calculations were performed using code based in part on the internet-accessible Species Richness Estimators Eco-Tool (Russell 2006), which implements the techniques described in Colwell and Coddington (1994) and references therein, as well as those of Colwell, Mao and Chang (2004).”
